Children and Adolescents
Growing up is hard to do! Children and teenagers can face difficulties in school, in relationships with friends and family, in discovering and forming their sense of self. In fact, many of the problems that adults face, but with the added complication of developing brains and surging hormones. It’s no wonder that many young people can benefit from the support of an understanding counsellor.

Children and young people can benefit from having a therapeutic space that is solely for them; free of the expectations of their parents and other adults. Sometimes we might explore how they feel about a difficult experience or event, and sometimes they might just want to spend a session talking about things they are interested in with an attentive adult. Both of these sessions can be therapeutic!
My Experience
I’ve been trained to work with children and adolescents. During my degree, both of my placements were with young people; one in a secondary school, and one with Bristol charity Off The Record(OTR). My placement with OTR was so successful that I was offered a job before finishing my training! I also have a lot of experience working with children and young people in private practice.
I have worked with a wide range of issues that young people have brought, including:
School issues
Low mood
Suspected neurodivergence
LGBTQIA+ issues
Domestic and sexual violence
Divorce and family issues
Grief
